What to Expect

When you come to one of our services, which we typically call a “meeting,” friendly members will be ready to greet you. Our members dress respectfully and modestly desiring to demonstrate reverence and non-distracting so that our attention can be focused on our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 2:9-10) You will notice that men do not wear hats and women have their heads covered with hats or veils during the meetings, symbolically demonstrating that Christ is head of the assembly to observing angels. (1 Corinthians 11:7-10)

Sunday morning

Our first meeting begins at 9 am. There will be at least one of our elders inside the door to help show you to a seat. Our service participation is restricted to the male members of our assembly (1 Corinthians 14:34-35, 1 Timothy 2:11-12). Prayer, Scripture reading, and congregational singing are the key components to our morning worship which culminates with the members sharing from a loaf of bread and then wine which is passed between members (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:23-25).

Our Sunday School is at 10:45-11:30 am and is composed of two parts. First we sing together with the children, then they move to the west wing of our building to classrooms where there are several classes that teach age appropriate lessons about God, the gospel, and Christian living. We have a class for any school aged boy or girl.

During the children’s classes, we have an adult teaching meeting in the main auditorium beginning at 11 am. One of our male members who either is gifted, or is determining whether they are gifted, in teaching or exhortation prepares a message for the congregation (Romans 12:6-8). The message may be part of a series, expositional teaching, or a special topic the people need to hear about.

Finally, if you are able to join us at 11:45am, we have a special time to preach the gospel (1 Thessalonians 1:8). Read more about the gospel here. We begin with congregational singing of gospel hymns, before either one or two men share the message of the gospel of God’s grace.

Monday Night Bible Hour (on school days)

On Monday nights at 7 pm, we have special classes for kindergarten through adult. In the main auditorium, children and adults sing together before pre-teen class students break into age group classes for Bible lessons, while an adult class for comments, questions and answers also occurs. In our basement is the teen class where there is food, socializing, singing, and a message from the Bible.
